Monumental

Monumental.

If you would have told me 5 years ago that she would be singing…

On a stage.

By herself.

In front of people.

Voluntarily.

I would have NEVER believed you.

5 years ago, anxiety used to have a tight grip on her. It wreaked havoc on her life and made her believe that everyday situations deserved her fear. She shied away from anything that would bring attention to herself, and most definitely would not have volunteered to audition to perform a solo at an Art Fair!

But today, she did.

She did it. Nervous and a tad bit anxious (she told us afterwards), but she did it.

I share this moment with you (with permission) to encourage you that what you are wading through today does not have to be the thing that holds you hostage 5 years from now.

What your kids are wading through today does not have to be the thing that holds them hostage 5 years from now.

It may take work, and more often than not, HARD work, but your right now is not the end of your story.

Does she still have moments that Anxiety tries to steal from her? Absolutely. But those moments are a lot less frequent, and she now has the tools to know what to do when those moments arise.

Each time I get to witness one of her brave moments like today’s, I am reminded of how far she has come and how good God is. ❤️
