When I had my first baby, there were Mamma friends and relatives who were further along in their Mammahood journey who offered to let me borrow items that they had been holding on to, but no longer needed because their kiddos had grown out of that particular stage.
I remember my sister let us borrow her baby swing (which was a GODSEND), another friend offered us her baby play mat, and another friend offered to let us borrow her Excersaucer when D got to the age to be able to use it. Besides the baby swing, the other items were items that I didn’t even know I *needed*, but boy oh boy did they help!
Often times, as parents, when we’re done with the baby gear, we just put it in the garage either for our potential next child, or because we just aren’t ready to part with it yet. So ask around if you’re able to, and if not, check local second hand groups for baby items offered at a fraction of the price.*
*(As always, check recall notices and safety dates on certain items before purchasing.)
